FAQs - World’s Finest Chocolate

How does the WFC Profit Guarantee work?

World’s Finest® Chocolate will GUARANTEE a 10% INCREASE in the profits you previously earned using a competitor’s fundraiser.  Most types of product sales qualify - gift catalogs, cheesecakes, cookie dough, magazines, popcorn, even other chocolate brands (not that you would sell another brand of chocolate, right?!?!). This is a RISK-FREE way for you to try fundraising with WFC and realize for yourself what so many others have:  that we have the BEST product, the BEST program, and the BEST results, and we’re willing to back that up….GUARANTEED! Terms and conditions apply, so contact us today for more details.

How long does it typically take to get delivery once I place my order?

This varies by product. For most products, once paperwork for an original order has been submitted, the typical turnaround time for delivery is 3 business days. Continuation orders during your sale usually take less time. Personalized and/or custom-configured orders take 4- to 5-weeks, respectively, from the date your paperwork has been submitted to WFC. Please check your product’s Terms & Conditions page for more details.

What is the minimum order?

This varies by product. Please check your product’s Terms & Conditions page for more details.

What if I have leftover chocolate?

While some programs allow for unsold product to be returned we generally recommend that you try to sell what you have leftover to avoid return fees. Many groups will offer part of the profit to other groups on campus for selling their leftover cases; some will offer bonuses to their top sellers for helping to sell leftover cases; some will sell leftover product to staff at a discount. If those efforts prove unsuccessful, then contact your sales rep for more information on how to return your cases to World’s Finest Chocolate for credit. Cases must be returned within 60 days of delivery/pick-up, must be in original condition, and may have a return fee and/or shipping costs deducted from the credit.

Do you have allergy information for your products?

Absolutely! Click here for an allergy snapshot by product, or visit the World’s Finest Chocolate Food Allergies page for more information. Please note that all WFC chocolate products (including Dark Chocolate) are labeled as “contains milk”, so there are no milk-free products made at the WFC facility. All fundraising bar flavors contain or may contain tree nuts, except for the Caramel bar which is made strictly on WFC’s Tree Nut-Free production line. All WFC chocolate products contain soy (Lecithin).

Does WFC offer products that are free from nuts and gluten?

Yes! WFC recognizes that food allergies are a serious concern – especially among children. They offer a large variety of product options that are free of the most common allergens, including gluten and peanuts.

What are WFC’s efforts to ensure that products labeled free of a particular allergen do not contain trace amounts?

WFC monitors all product ingredients and adheres to strict product labeling standards. They stand by 100% accuracy in their product labeling and each product is identified and listed in compliance with the current food labeling requirements. WFC samples and tests ingredients from their suppliers on a regular basis to ensure reliability and consistency.

What does it really mean when you say your products are “peanut-free”?

WFC is currently a peanut-free facility - they do not produce items that contain peanuts and they do not allow peanuts or peanut by-products to be brought into their facilities. They take the necessary precautions to ensure that they remain a peanut-free facility.

How can WFC be a peanut-free facility? Don’t they produce items with nuts?

They do indeed, but peanuts are not the same as tree nuts (almonds, cashews, walnuts, etc.), which grow on trees. There is no proven correlation between peanut allergens and other nut allergens.

What products are gluten-free and will there be some type of designation?

There is a designation on all labels, cartons, and cases to specify which items are free of gluten. With the exception of their new wafer bar, all of WFC’s $1 and $2 bars are gluten-free.

What is the expected shelf life of a product?

Solid milk chocolate will last up to 12 months from its manufacturing date. Milk and Dark Chocolate with nuts, raisins, caramel, or other flavoring in it will last up to 9 months from its manufacturing date. If there is a “Best Thru” date listed on the product, please use this date.

What does the “Best Thru” date mean?

The best thru date is found on the case of each item, as well as on individual chocolate bar wrappers. The thru date refers to the end of the month. For example, if the wrapper reads JUL2021, the bar is guaranteed fresh through July 31, 2021. The Best Thru date is not an expiration date, it’s a freshness rating the company sets based on the date through which they feel the chocolate still meets its quality standards.

How should I store my chocolate? Is it OK to keep it in the refrigerator?

Chocolate should be kept in a cool, dry place preferably below 72°F, but not in the refrigerator. To help ensure your chocolate stays at the highest quality before you distribute it for your fundraiser, we suggest adhering to these guidelines:

• Store product at temperatures between 50 - 70°F.

• Store product in less than 50% relative humidity.

• Do not store product directly on the floor.

• Do not store chocolate near aromatic foods or other materials, since chocolate absorbs the odor of things around it.

• Do not store near paints, chemicals, or other hazardous materials.

• Do not store near a heat source such as a furnace, radiator, or windows.

• Do not store chocolate for long periods of time - distribute it as soon as you can to ensure freshness.

• Do not store near water or anything that may leak.

• Be sure the area is free of pests and properly protected from outside disturbances.

My chocolate turned white. What happened?

Your chocolate most likely either melted or has freezer burn. When chocolate melts, the ingredients begin to separate. Cocoa butter rises to the surface and as the chocolate resolidifies, remains there giving the chocolate a white appearance. Also, storing chocolate at frigid temperatures can cause freezer burn which may also produce the white appearance. However, discoloration can also be an indication of mold, fungus, or some other contamination so if your chocolate does not have its original, factory-fresh coloring, we recommend you discard it.

Somebody is selling World’s Finest Chocolate at a higher price than what is printed on the packaging.  What should I do?

Sometimes customers are tempted to raise the price of WFC products in an attempt to increase their own profits. This not only degrades the value and integrity of the product, but is strictly prohibited by World’s Finest.  If you should come across somebody selling WFC products at prices higher than those originally printed on the product by WFC, then we encourage you to report it to us as soon as possible.

Does having my World’s Finest Chocolate case labels custom-printed (aka “personalized”) cost me anything?

No. The personalization program is free-of-charge to the customer so long as the order minimum and lead time are met. This is a service that we offer to increase the effectiveness of your sale and make your product stand out amongst all the others!
